    This literally just happened to me cutting my grass, my Toro mower was starting up 10:48 and then stalling out, I knew that it was something with the carburetor jet I sprayed it but I totally forgot that there was a small hole on the side. So I’m off to buy the carburetor cleaner and more starting fluid. Thank you so much for showing me that, I really do appreciate your video it was awesome! 💪💪

      It's not really about the noise, though that might initially tip you off that something is amiss. You need to diagnose it with your eyes, and hopefully this video will help you do that!

    You can bend the copper pipe by closing off one end with masking tape. Fill the pipe with sand packed tight. Seal the open end with masking tape. Now you can bend the pipe. The sand will prevent the pipe from crimping at the bend. It's a very old plumbers trick that works.

    Couple things 1) Amazon says the voltage regulator in your link is no longer available. 2) At the end of your video when testing the charging by putting in the jumper wire, which battery terminal do you touch? I assume negative but I never like to assume.

    • @Buckwsr
      @Buckwsr День тому

      The regulator puts out positive DC voltage and runs through the key switch to the positive terminal on the battery. When I was testing the DC voltage output at the regulator (with the jumper wire), I put the positive lead from my tester on the jumper wire, and the negative lead on the negative terminal of the battery. For testing the regulator, it has to be connected to the battery. That's why I used that little jumper wire.

    Another option is to go to the Home Depot (or any other hardware supplier), and purchase a piece of 1/2 inch hard copper tubing, and cut the length needed for the wheel, and then press it in by using a soft brass hammer or a block of wood and hammer. It works extremely well and will last as long as the original bushings.

Let me also thank you for making your video about the facts and for not cluttering it up with horrible music so loud that we couldn’t hear you. So many UA-camrs do that and it ruins the video. Yours is simple and useful and much appreciated. Keep up the great work!

    What about replacing the oil. Also, the check valve that is attached to the float in the bowl gets stuck with goo. That can get stuck closed. Is there an additive you can add to the gas that will clean up the insides such as Techron?

    A small engine repair guy taught me this years ago. It does work 99% of the time. I use a tiny wire to clean the jet. The other thing you should do is run your mower dry at the end of mowing season, or anytime the mower will be storage for a while.

    Thanks Buck! I didn’t even have to take the carburator apart and it worked after 5 years sitting outside! I own a different lawnmower and by just removing the air filter I have direct access to the “bowl” and I shot the cleaner through all the orifices. That small no traction lawnmower was my jogging buddy I used to mow 20,000 feet with it on the regular. It saw a loooot of grass and we are finally reunited thanks to you, your tips worked beautifully!
